Fostering a School via Adventure Tour to Sri Lanka

Every year, students of Year 9 of Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha participate at a week-long adventure programme in Sri Lanka. During their tour, the adventurers are usually residents of the Out-door Activity-Based Children’s Adventure Camp in Nuwara-Eliya, the Up-Country region of Sri Lanka. They engage in physical training, self-confidence building activities and even engage in outdoor cooking and jungle expedition.

The most important item in the tour agenda is the community service project the participants are expected to complete. They visit Kothmale Mahaweli Mahaseya Vidyalaya, a primary school in a rural part of the Hill Country region and donate Desktop computers, school bags and stationery items to the children.

This School has been assisted by SSLSD for the past three years.
